I am probably not going to be popular with this post, but then so be it.
I was the attacker in an Ore Raid mission today against 2 lvl 1 players, I am lvl 10.
As it currently stands this mission is totally unplayable when these levels come together, not only was I slowed down to a ridiculous speed that quite frankly I know I could not have made to back to my HQ in but I was also pummeled to death in about 10 shot from a lvl 1 player.
Now, I know that there has to be some disadvantage given to me, but I do not appreciate all my hard work attaining a lvl 10 weapon, armour and engine being wittled away to nothing. It makes a mockery of the whole lvl system.
I would rather be allocated another marauder mission than waste time trying to complete a mission that cannot be done. The current "balancing" clearly doesn't work (which is to be expected, i'm not having a pop at that) but it highlights an issue with the differences between these levels.
Why am I getting so wound up about it, well it's not about the winning I'm really not bothered by that, it's the game play. I am driving past a hill which is quite a long one and as expected the defender has a range advantage.
1. I cannot shoot them
2. I cannot change direction quickly enough to get close enough to the hill to shoot at them.
3. I die
4. Arrive back at hill and kill them
5. Pick up the ore
6. Start moving very slowly and move about 1 tank length in the time it takes them to arrive back at the hill.
7. Repeat steps 1 through 7
In this scenario I will never make it past the hill, let alone on to the next hill ^^
So, Yes I know this is still a beta and I'm glad to be a part of it but this matching/disadvantaging is going in the wrong direction. These levels should either:
1. never be matched against each other in the first place
2. upper limit for players in this first world should be 8.
