Steel Legions Guide

Introduction-

You take control over a mechanical, steam-driven combat vehicle in an alternative history, where four factions struggle for land, resources and power. With your comrades, you take on action-paced missions against other players and their factions. Collect gear and upgrade your vehicle and become a legend on the battleground.

The combination of fast-paced player-versus-player action and long-term enhancements of your vehicle makes this game a fresh appeal for both experienced and new players. Constantly changing challenges won’t let you rest.

In Steel Legions, four mighty empires fight for control over resources that are growing ever scarcer – steel, steam, and oil play a crucial role in the battle for victory. Along with new chassis, drive modules, armour, and a variety of weapons, additional components can now be used to expand the heavy-weight war colossi, each of which is controlled by half a dozen brave men and women, into even deadlier machines. In addition, more mission types are now available, offering more opportunities in the merciless battles against rival empires. Tactical weapons can now also be used to alter the landscape briefly in order to secure a crucial advantage for recruits in battles in rough terrain.

The First Step-

For a starter, you should first start shooting down some level 1 marauders (Which would be found to the left or right of your HQ depending on which Faction you have joined), you’ll know that they are level one because it will show a number next to the name, which is its level.

OK, while hunting these marauders, they will drop Construction Parts, these will be shown as silver gears, dropped when you kill a marauder. After you get around 50 Construction Parts, you can now upgrade your components with ease to lv 2, once you level. Marauders will not give you experience they drop Nitro, Neon, Construction Parts, Oil, Medical Pack, Repair Kit and Gold. Remember Resources are rare...

You can only get experience from missions (pvp matches) that you accept at the Headquarters building.

OK, Upgrade your components by clicking the Button shaped as a Tank at the middle of the top left of your screen. After opening that button, click on the ‘Upgrade Tank button and it will Direct you to a screen that will show:
Weapon, Armor, Engine and Tactical Weapon.

Upgrading your weapon increases the damage that it does against marauders/players, upgrading Armor will increase your resistance/health against marauders/players, upgrading your engine will NOT make you go faster, but will keep you going at the same speed if you keep it at the same level as you are at the moment, e.g: A level 8 with level 8 engine will have same speed as level 1 with level 1 engine. Finally, the Tactical Weapon will increase the Neon effect duration. Try to keep all these 4 parts at the same level.

As you level up your parts, they will require more Construction parts to upgrade. Try killing marauders 1 level lower then you or the same level for better gear drops.

Your First Mission

If you feel that you are confident in fighting in PvP then you can go to your HQ (A building with the same colour and flags as your faction) and click ‘Start Mission’ (You will easily find it when you scroll over your HQ). You will either get assigned to a Marauder Mission, or a PvP Mission.

If you get assigned to a Marauder Mission, just do as the mission tells you, Kill 1 Boss marauder and then mission accomplished. You will get max xp with bonus but expect to die a lot. I found hiding in a hole helped a little to lower his damage.

Although, if you get assigned to a PvP mission, you will get either one of these types of missions. Just remember to follow the blue arrows to goals location.

.Transporter Attack(or Defense)- Goal Destroy or Defend the transporter till they ( 1-4) get to their travel goals. Or the Oil factory gets Full depending on which one.
.Bunker Attack(or Defense) - Goal Protect of destroy the bunker.
.Ore Raid(or Defense) - Goal Steal the ore and get it back to base. Basically drive over it, run (very slowly) and stay on the road. while you try and destroy the other team.
.Hill Domination(or Defense) - Goal King of the Hill, your hill has HP, you either want to get it down or stop it from going down. You do both by staying on the hill and trying not die as you kill each other.
.Mine Attack(or Defense) - Goal Blow up the factory two times. Much like Ore or steel raid, you travel slowly with a bomb, from the Ranking Building by HQ, trying to get to the factory and blow it up. And you have to do this twice. While the other team tries to kill you or the opposite.

If you get one of those missions, read what you have to do and understand what you have to do, you can check by clicking ‘M’ on your keyboard, this will ALSO open your map.

Now, to have a better chance of winning on missions, you need to use the environment to your advantage, OK, here are the Terrains that will help you in combat:

Road – This will make your tank move faster. You can easily identify these as grey paths.
Forest – You can easily identify forests as green trees sticking out of the ground, always in groups. In forests you are slower, but are harder to hit you.
Hill – Easily identifiable, a bit obvious, but I’ll still say it. While on a hill you can shoot and see further, but you are easier to hit than when you are on normal ground.
Crater – Craters can be found as ‘muddy’ holes, if you go in a crater, you take less damage, but your firing range decreases.

If you can use these 4 Terrains wisely, then it will increase your chances of winning by far.

One last tip, if you get to about level 6, with all your parts at level 6, you can start shooting down some level 2 or 3 marauders to save up quite a lot of Construction Parts by mass killing, so you can upgrade your parts every time you level up, it saves time in having to kill marauders all the time as you continually level up.

Crew- Beside your tank icon is your Crew. 1 st one costs nothing, and it costs gold to unlock each other slot. You can also level crew but you will lose their levels if your disband them. They can gives you some bonus in game like a -% on gold sales, +% to damage, a chance you use a kit and it is a free heal, etc. So read them over and see what you would Prefer.

Metals- Pvp Metals I know you can buy some things in the gold shop with them, donate them to your clan for helping level it. As for collecting them I imagine it is open pvp outside the HQ starting area. You can change Maps at the Command center by HQ and check Ranks.

Extras-
You will also get 5 gold daily
You get a free resource spin at Supply Center by HQ

Suggestions-
Gold can be bought but if you can't afford it or rather not save what you find and use them for Tank upgrades like Devices, Prototypes, and Alloy, not resources. You can find and win resources, Tank gear upgrades you can't. Or discount items that you think look really good in the Game shop by HG and the supply center. Upgrading your Crew and thinks you can not find from drops.

I hope this helps.
Care of Silvia and MechaDelta.
